Liz Clift is a multi-award winning Fashion Designer based on the Gold Coast. In early days Liz went into the QLD Designer Awards and won every award, she then opened a boutique on the Isle of Capri. In those days it was a lineup of the who’s who of fashion including Prue Acton, Carla Zampatti, Trent Nathan. Her designs were out selling the other labels, so she decided to go to Paris and do a course at the Paris American Academy, her tutors were Karl Lagerfeld, Sonia Rykiel and Chantal Thomass.
Once back in Australia Liz went totally into designing full time and gave up the retail and went into wholesaling, also manufacturing uniforms for cruise ships, international hotels, resorts, uniforms for Hamilton Island for 10 years for Keith and Thea Williams. She designed wardrobe for movies and would go out on location supervising the filming. Liz has designed gear for rock bands and has done the theatre wardrobe for Rocky Horror Show. Liz Clift Couture gowns were sold in Beverley Hills, Worth Avenue in Palm Beach in Florida.
Some of the highlights over the years include having sell out fashion shows in USA and a TV show with her designs. Liz also now lectures at the fashion school in Paris where she studied and she is now their global representative goes around the world promoting the fashion school. Women enjoy wearing Liz Clift clothes because of her sense of fun and colour which lift the spirits of her customers.
Liz Clift, Founder/CEO of Liz Clift International Pty Ltd, was recently selected as Top Fashion Stylist of the Year of 2023 by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP) for her outstanding leadership, dedication and commitment to the industry.
Inclusion with the International Association of Top Professional is an honour in itself, only a few members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honourees are distinguished based on the professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, longevity in their field, other affiliations, and contributions to their communities. All Honorees are invited to attend the IAOTP annual award gala at the end of this year for a night to honour their achievements.
With a number of decades of experience in the industry, Liz is an accomplished Fashion Designer who has received multiple awards, which she started winning from the age of 17. She was inundated with orders from boutiques and by the age of 20 was designing stage clothes for rock bands, wardrobes for movies, theatrical costumes and the list goes on.
Liz then decided to study fashion at the prestigious Paris American Academy Fashion School in France.
During her time there, she had the privilege of being taught by renowned fashion icons such as Karl Lagerfeld, Sonia Rykiel and Chantal Thomass.
After returning to Australia, Liz fully immersed herself in designing, dedicating all her time to this pursuit.
Liz ventured into wholesaling on a broader basis and was not only stocking boutiques around Australia she was also in demand in Hawaii with her resort wear collections. Her speciality is reversible travel wear. throughout her illustrious career, Ms Liz clift has received many awards and accolades and her been recognised worldwide for her accomplishments. Throughout the years, there have been many notable achievements, such as hosting sold-out fashion shows in the USA and showcasing her designs on a television series. Her Couture gowns have sold in Beverly Hills and Worth Ave, Palm Beach, Florida.
This year she will be considered for the Empowered Woman Award and to be featured in TIP (Top Industry Professionals) magazine. She will be honoured at IAOTP's annual awards gala at the NYC Plaza Hotel this December for her selection as Top Fashion Stylist of the Year.
In addition to her sucessful career, Liz currently holds a position as a lecturer at a fashion school in Paris, where she previously pursued her studies. She also accepted the position of Global Ambassador for the school, traveling worldwide to promote its offerings and reputation. Women love wearing Liz Clift designs due to her ability to infuse a sense of fun and vibrant colour into her creations, she succeeds in uplifting the spirits of her clients.
Liz also sits on the board of the Queensland Fashion Council. A personal highlight of her career was the invite to meet with Anna Wintour at the Conde Nast headoffice in New York to discuss Anna's work on the CDFA.

Liz has just been asked to sell her designs on TVSN which an Australian and New Zealand shopping channel.
